Hi All,

Just finished recording a new ambient piece - This is recorded and treated guitars and bass, transferred to the MD UW and played on the Machinedrum only.

Really something different and a big departure for me. Wanted to see if it works, and I think it does.
I wonder how I could break out of the rather confined set of samples and really mangle these sounds in real time to become completely unlike the source material.

so stark.. so different from your other sounds. i like it! elektron boxes are so musical if you know how to work them. you should make an album of this stuff. soundtrack music...

Particularly if you take your pre-composed "piece" apart by tweaking parameters, possibly with the locks - but that's not even necessary. The piece was recorded with no patterns stored at all, just playing like a piano.

I have to be honest, I didn't know what to expect. A machinedrum only ambient track!? Really... how would this work, shy of making atonal, #ucking frightening landscapes... but alas, this was awesome, and very musical. Quite cool. Cheers, Mike
