I heard a lot of FAT sounds, but I have to agree after hearing these samples that the Andromeda lacks warmth. The oscillators seem to sparkle in the highs and thunder in the lows, but the midrange lacks the presence for the perceived analog warmth. Anyone else agree?

PEK! PEK! PEK!

I realize the andromeda can play in the mid register. What I meant was it sounds thick since it produces a lot of harmonics, but the harmonics in the mid-range are not as evident as the low and high harmonics. Almost like playing a jupiter 8 through an EQ and slightly lowering the Q at 300hz. This is where perceived warmth is created. Trust me I WANT to like the sound, bacause I would love more polyphony than the PEK can offer, I'm just not a believer yet. I'll have to play at the store a bit more... Thanks for the samples

You could pick up a secondhand desktop Evo to see if you like the concept. Once you're addicted to the phat analog goodness, you'll be lusting after the PEK like a businessman in downtown Atlanta on a hot Friday evening, 'round 11pm.
