anyone have thoughts on this little blue box? worth the money?
I'm contemplating getting a used one locally to go with my recently re-acquired roland system 100 semi-modular.

I know someone who has one and rates it very highly (for him, above the Sherman Filterbank, although that's a different species). Sounds really warm - I think it's a clone of the MS20 filter, which everyone loves. ANyhow, I'd check and see how well Frostwave gear holds its price before deciding. My guess is that it's worth a gamble.

I wanted one for a while as well, then decided to DIY one cause its much cheaper (only about $25 in parts for an MS20 clone) then gave up on that and now I just use the filters on the virus for that dual high and low pass sound.
that said, the resonator is awesome - a friend of mine had 2 (since they are mono only) and he loved them more than anything else.
definitely, it seems to be just the thing for bass

i use a lot of frostwave pedals, and have talked to paul a lot about his designs, these things are built tough, with a nice amount of headroom and all his pedals sound really good. pairing the resonator with the funk a duck and cv ing them is fucking awesome!!

i dont quite understand what the funk a duck does exactly, or what determins the cv it sends out...

sorry, the way i worded my post may have been misleading, the funk a duck has no CV, the resonator and the blueringer have CV. also these pedals dont send CV but are able to be controlled by voltages with the CV inputs.
the funk a duck is basically a powerful envelope follower with a self resonating filter. similair to the lovetone meatball but with nastier sounds. dont get me wrong the meatball and funk a duck are completely different beasts, but they are derived from the same mutron ancestor...
