My new toy...... 18 Years ago
Looks like it's never been used. On it's way to Germany for the L.A.M.M. upgrade. I decided to say SCREW the Andromeda and PEK, and go with a true classic. Had to brag. Can't wait!

It's purty.

This might be blasphemy, but I don't think that I could pick out the 'Moog' sound in a lineup. Am I a bad person? Yes. Yes I am.

Looks beautiful. Good luck with all the maintenance ahead of you, though.

(Did you consider a PolyEvolver?)

Yea, the PEK in my first post stands for Poly Evolver Keyboard. Not interested. I have demoed both the Andy and PEK extensively. They are too clean, and even though they have analog oscillators, they don't have the warmth and prescense the classics did (to my ears anyway). They just don't sound as alive to me. More static.

As far as reliability goes, read up on the L.A.M.M. upgrade I was talking about. Gives the MemoryMoog modern day stability and an auto-tune feature for all 6 voices (3-oscillators for each voice for 18 total), and it actually works. Also gives full midi functionality to ALL knobs and switches. Stereo out instead of mono, AND a filter input. Read more here:

wow, the l.a.m. upgrade looks dope - but 1900 euro ? is that INCLUDING a memory moog by any chance ?

how much did the memorymoog + lamm upgrade set you back if you dont mind saying ?

I'd love to hear some samples...I got a rackmount voyager, no cv ins/outs yet...but sooon....

Doesn't include the Memorymoog.

Memorymoog $2,275
LAMM Upgrade $2,600
Having the fattest, most reliable analog monster in the world.......nah, I won't go there.

It was an investment, but I'm not worried. The Mm with LAMM is one of the most sought after synths in the world. I've seen them fetch $6500 easily on Ebay (that's what Linntronics charges for there premodded units on their website.) Mine will be only the 93rd in the world (80+ are in Europe), so they are very rare with this necessary mod. The Moog name will never die, and I think the collectors value of this piece makes it a safe buy (especially in Mint condition)....not that I'll ever sell it.

if i wasn't sitting next to a lamm right now i'd be insanely jealous. you're really in for quite a treat, there is just nothing that compares to the fullness and warmth of this instrument imho. + having everything under midi control is just ridiculous amounts of fun.
that's a gorgeous mm btw.

Awesome, We'll have to swap patches after I play for a while. (It does transmit sysex with the LAMM upgrade right?)

Anyway, here's a link to a track one of the moderators at FP made. Almost all memorymoog. Very nice atmospheric sounds. Enjoy:

you can most certainly send and receive sysex after upgrade. you can still use the cassette backup as well, so you can load all the old patches. one of the best parts of the upgrade for me is the addition of a stereo output in which all 6 voices are panned at distinct percentages. admittedly, i didn't even notice this addition for a month or so after it got back.
