Allright! :-D
I have now done some tweaking and experimenting. When I put the MD to que it's patterns upon trigging from Live - everything clicks! I'm such a happy camper...

Choke or mute pedal for the sidsation. 18 Years, 1 Month ago
|
Because of my current performance set up, (this is not a problem in the studio) I find it very hard to work the sidstation in because of the high noise factor. (I run 4 synths through a sumo 300) I have heard that you can get some sort of guitar pedal that will completely mute what ever is inputed through it.
This would allow me to keep the sidstation in my performance set without having to deal with adjusting the amp knobs all the time, or dealing with the constant sound of the SID ocsilators.
Has anyone used or heard of such a pedal or stomp box?

elektron suggests the behringer autocom to gate out the noise. there's also the BOSS CL-50, which is a half-rack noise gate. basically any noise gate pedal would probably work fine.

dont use the behringer - its just going to flatten out the sound of the synth.
I would just try and find a single channel noise gate - there are many out there to choose from and thay are all pretty inexpensive, whether it be the boss pedal or a 1/2 Rack DBX or Alesis. I really like the symetrix gate. Also, ashly makes noise gates that sell for pennies used - someone on the tapeop messageboard is selling one right now for $70.
