My mbase doesn't sequence properly from the elektron monomachine, something involving note off cc#s. Even with these being sent, it still doesn't trigger every time it is supposed to. I have to use other drum machines to sequence it.


Also do any of you all have the cc# list for the mbase. I've been trying to get it off the official jomox forum on yahoo forums unsuccessfully from Michaelis. He keeps posting it and yet it the files are unavailable on my computer???

my mbase works A-OK with my MD
to trigger the mbase you need to send a C1 note. no other note will trigger it. from 0 - 127 it is 36 on the MD

theres a method to 'play' the mbase like a bass synth, so that it pitches the bassdrum by what note you press.... I've not tried this as using the mbase like this doesnt interest me.

anyways, if yer not in that mode....only the c1 note triggers the mbase....and also you need to select what channel the mbase receives midi (obviously) ....so make sure your MNM is sending a C1 on the same channel the mbase is using.


all these controls are on the face of the unit, using the UP and DOWN buttons to negotiate and the turn dial to alter settings.


maybe you know all this stuff already ?

another way to do it is this:

route the kick drum out to one of the outs you are not using, then plug it into the trigger in of the mbase, it then adjust the trigger sensitivity to what works with the volume and kick you are using. this works and there is no midi bullshit.
