Who uses an analogue modular? 19 Years, 5 Months ago
|
For now I don't have an analogue modular, but maybe someday! My favorite analogue modular is the Wiard.

Let's rephrase that to, 'who wishes they used an analog modular'

I have plans to build a complete MOTM system at some point in my life.

I think about a system from synthesizer.com ! At the moment i got only something like a semimodular - system consist out of a moog voyager, cp251, the VX351, some moogerfoogers and other gear, which work with CV/Gate plugs like FR777, Schaltwerk, MAQ16, Retroverb and Perfourmer. You can get quiet far with this, but i don't looks like a real modular wall.

I plan on building this before I go on to something larger. It's affordable and I already built the fatman so I know their style already. P9700 Modular Package

Suggestions for good *stereo* effects units? 18 Years ago
|
I've done a good bit of searching out there for a good quality effects setup that enebles quick access to pertinent parameters, and I would interested in others' input. I'm thinking tabletop units and/or stomp boxes, but open to suggestions. I don't think that I'll be able to find one particular unit that does everything that I want it to...I'm planning on needing probably two or three units strung together.
The effects that I'm interested in are: analog filter (not modeled), distortion, delay (preferably syncable to MIDI). Stereo inputs and outputs are the name of the game here, which rules out a lot of stuff, unfortunately.
Something that looks promising is the MFB Multi-filter (analog filters, distortion, ring-modulation, step sequencer for effects). As for delays, I'm not particularly attached to digital or analog. For example, the Boss DD-6 looks like it might fit the bill. Not midi syncable, but I would have quick access to all relevant parameters. A Sherman filterbank would be money, of course. And the eowave filter bug looks good and sounds good (at least from the demo I heard).
I would prefer dedicated gear. That is to say, I know that a Virus's external input processing is good, and that an Evolver would be interesting, too. But, like I said, I'm looking for dedicated effect units--preferably (my mind is open to all suggestions, here. I'm the one asking for help.).
Furthermore, I imagine that it would be good to keep the number of units necessary to achieve what I want to three or less.
Thanks for any input, folks. Sorry for the friggin' essay.

I use the dual-sherman rackmount...its well worth the money, its a samplers treasure trove. Record a jam, then go into the file for samples and loops....or you can use it with subtlety to excite your signals and thats also most rewarding...
I guess it may depend on your a/d converters tho, Im not sure if you want to spend all that money on a quality filter to run it through a mediocre a/d ?
Some day, over the rainbow...I'd like to get the mutronics mutator - you should definatly read up on that
someone around here mentioned the EBBE & FLUT (pardon my poor german spelling) ....but the demos I heard were much too noisey - might be up your alley tho
anyways, long story short I
