Elektron-Users

Im curious to what other sequencer you all use in conjunction with the one one your elektron gear. Recording or live use. Im just trying to figure out the best way to go. Seems like alot of people use Live. Anyone with Reason or otherwise?

i don't sequence my elektron's externally, only use their own sequencers. i record stuff in Live for arranging. and my other gear is sequenced from my mono or Live, whichever i feel like at the moment. i play live with the elektron's running alongside Live on my powerbook.

I use the internal sequencers...I use the Mono to sequence other synths since it is dead easy.

For the machine drum I use the built-in sequencer for the patterns and I sequence pattern changes with an MPC. Most of the stuff on the MnM is sequenced with the MPC but I guess I do use the built-in sequencer quite a bit. Once I've mapped things out on the MPC and played around with some simple arangements I import the MIDI into Logic7 where I arrange everything in linear song form. Once I've got things pretty much the way I want 'em in MIDI I start recording audio and begin mixing and chopping, etc. So, I use a number of different sequencers depending on what I'm doing. I like to use the MPC sequencer because it's pretty straight forward and really fast and I use that for live performance so it sort of makes sense to me to start there...

I'm an excited and rather proud owner of a new MD-UW, so I haven't had a chance to sequence it externally yet. However, I've been dreaming of buying something fancy like a P3 sequencer, as I think it would do a few rather nice things that the internal sequencer couldn't. The one I really want is the Signal Arts MAPS sequencer. Check it out: http://www.signalarts.ca/

Both the P3 and the MAPS seem more like instruments in themselves, and go someway towards filling the gap left (prematurely?) by the Notron.

I like the Kawai Q-80 cauz it only has the most basic commands, which can become quite complex quickly. I'm looking to pick up an MPC 60 with the os upgrade eventually.

I sequense my synths from MnM but i have some drumms runnning in sync from clock, i have tryed many sequnsers but monobox sure wiped them!!
