true enough

I like the sound of the Junos with the Digital Oscs - sure, its no minimoog but still - not bad

analog filtering to me is the most important thing

the moogerfoogers sound fantastic

the new Neve stuff is all IC based anyway...

Well by the looks of it, and some Information I got from Robotspeak in CA. This tribute edition will run 1200 models. So after the initial 1200, they will release the standard version. No wood sidepanels, and no laser inscription of Bob Moog signature. However it may drop in price even more. Robotspeak has the tribute edition for 1375. Imagine the standard edition being around 1100 or so.

Now im really getting interested.

Well, if you are willing to wait a few years to happen I guess it is exciting.

Ok so apparantly some sources have said that the Limited edition will sell out real fast, and once that is over theyll start shipping out the Standard edition.

"with plastic endcheeks and amber LEDs for $999"

So no wood endcheeck, different led's, hell I like amber color for under a grand. Sounds way good to me, gives me enough time to save up as well.

Heres one area I read this from Analog Industries

Did any Juno's really have digital oscillators? I thought they all had digitally controlled CEM chips.

Regarding analog filters vs. analog oscillators...it depends on your application. Some sounds dont really require a lot of filter movement, or any for that matter, in which case analog oscillators would really shine over digital ones. I have a Q+, and on some patches it makes very little differance when I switch over to the analog filters. On others it makes all the differance in the world (particularly brass patches and patches which use the drive parameter).

my money would definitely go to the MEK too. i'm sure the moog is a quality instrument with a good sound but what does it do that hasn't been done by synths for decades? on the contrary, the MEK is a unique synth that pushes things forward. that's what i like.

Even though I would also take the MEK, in this case I don't think it's justified to compare the synths on their specs alone...having played a voyager for a while now, it's apparent that there really is a certain undefinable interaction within the thing that is more than the some of the parts. True that the little phatty doesn't seem too impressive on paper, but I would certainly want to play one in person before writing it off.

Sometimes I find the Evolver too complicated for some simple applications...that is why I find the phatty appealing.
