Needing Synth Recommendation 18 Years, 5 Months ago
I need an analog sequenced synth which has at least 2 VCOs and 2 onboard LFOs. I've been searching for long and found that my only solution is ... MFB Synth II?! I quite don't like its plastic case...

sequential circuits pro one is exactly what you are looking for. The sequencer is a little old fashioned, but what a great sounding and affordable synth!

Thanks for the replies.
milkmansnd : Pro One's seq is 2 patterns/40 notes. And doesn't has note duration(?). That's a bit too simple...
A question for those who have mfb products : Are their cases tough? Or just simply cheap thin plastik? In fact I'll like the case if they are tough, cos they are really light n'portable.

yea MFB plastic is tuff enough, overall build is ok.. i wouldn't say its quality through and through though. i have the synthlite which is dco and no sequencer it sounds great and has less moving parts! i think it has a better sound than the MFB synth [vco]. correct me if im wrong but the MFB synth doesn't have control over note duration but you may be able to slide between notes. havn't tried the synth 2 with midi control as it doesn't appeal to me. the PRO ONE is an excellent synthesizer with alot more scope than an MFB and quality sound. some say the build is poor but that depends on the revision and if its been looked after. the sequencer is simple but fun. btw the SID has an analogue filter if that counts for anything.. so anyway have you checked out FUTURERETRO 777 ?

i noticed most of the reccos are tabletops, but if you dont mind using a rack piece then the studio electronics ATC or the SE-1 are hard to beat. check out www.studioelectronics.com for pics and samples. they are pretty deep analog synths and you can save patches for future use. i also have a 777 with the newest OS that i am debating selling, pm me if you would like to make an offer.
