Just bought a machinedrum 18 Years, 2 Months ago
Got the unit a couple of days ago and have only played around with it in classic mode and now I want to hook it to my MPC. How do I configure the MPC to control bank/pattern selection on the SPS?
Also does anybody know if I can upgrade the SPS to UW using the MPC? How big is the file? MPC only has standard floppy.

Just go to GLOBAL/MIDI/MAP EDITOR here you can select a note number to every pattern.

Now just play/program those notes with your mpc and your off.

UW upgrade is a hardware-upgrade not software! So you'll never be able to do that!
But you might be able to update the OS from within your MPC, just download the .syx file and see if it fits the disk. (if that's what you mean?)

hope this helps,

Got it, but i'm still having trouble setting up the midi thru on the sps. The midi thru leads to a bassstation. How do i set the mpc to run it?

Can I use the 16 button sequence to control the bassation and set individual notes for each hit? How do I do this?

If you've connected:
mpc midi out -> sps midi in
sps midi thru -> bass-station midi in

you don't have to set the sps to midi thru (it's thru'ing by default)
Just program the mpc to control the BassStation as you did before the Sps was between it.

Just don't use the same midi channels for both!

-Yes you can, but then you need to use the midi-out port instead of the midi-thru.

-go to: KIT menu
-Choose MID machine and the midichannel you want to transmit
-Program this MID-machine in your sequence. And use the Note parameter to lock your melody.

-hope this'll help you

There's even more usefull info in the manual though!
