Ironically, I missed the entire thread while working on a track tonight.
I'll post it tomorrow -- good thing about the EU pub is you can still catch up on the conversation even after everyone's gone home.

Cheers,
J

Wakey wakey!

Pint of moonshine please.

I'd like to meet Jimmy Hendrix and the Buddha, ideally at the same time. Oskar Schindler as well.

Going back to an earlier question I'd like to build a lottery number prediction machine but I would probably keep the details and patent to myself. Or perhaps something more useful would be a really good and cheap alternative to fossil fuels, say nuclear fusion or something like that. That way your still made for life but your doing something positive at the same time.

Ok, here's my question: Do you still go out clubbing? If so, how often? Do you miss the heyday's? And for you when where they?

Nostalgia trip central.

In the UK it all ended late 80's early 90's when the government decided they would prefer a load of pissed up idiots drinking cheap booze in city centres rather than a load of people on E dancing and being peaceful.

Yeah, I'm sure yr right, I was a little bit too young for the dancing in fields official era (gutted) but still managed a fair few unofficial parties in fields around the 1999-2002. Still not the same though.

Just realised in my rush to read the entire thread and do my actual work, I managed to miss half the entire thread.. anyway.. top films is an impossible question but I like much of what has been suggested already. Big Lebowskis is definitely one of them though but the Life Aquatic was awful.

favorite movie - I don't know if I could really label it my favorite, but I could watch 'Dazed and Confused' all day long.

Started going out '98 and partying in mostly Chicago, Minneapolis, Madison, and Milwaukee area, but I did have a lot of good times in Boston and Seattle. Now I'm in Northern California, and partying has been limited to bookings and friends playing. I'm just not a fan of a lot of the music going around these days, but I guess that's something that happens when you get older.

Ditto. After all the Even Further parties, combined with Karma in chicago, it all seems passe these days.

Being in the 40+ age, partying for me is pretty limited.
Adult sensibilities, the working week, family responsibilities and so on, however, I have an agreement with myself allowing me to let my hair down once or twice a year.

This year for instance I have booked tickets for Amon Tobin gig in London, and a 3 day festival in Cornwall.
This festival is aimed at a reunion of a club I used to go to 20 years ago, and as such the acts and the music are generally classic in nature. Last year we had Jon da Silva (original hacienda dj) and Shades of Rhythm doing a PA!! it was class and gives older acts acts an opportunity to keep their hand in. This year we will have Andrew Weatherall and Justin Robertson - how wicked is that! kept to a maximum capacity of 400 people and everyone camping in a private zoo! Awesome stuff.
