Duncan?I came to it from djing in plymouth, not that I was a great dj or anything, early licensing hours = many parties = many dj's. Left Plymouth and became a hermit in Suffolk, was surrounded by loads of Hiphop heads in Suffolk, loads of breakers and scratch dj's, acid jazz drummers and skaters - odd for a predominantly agricultural area, but a great melting pot of goodness - this is mid nineties.
Whilst i liked the general vibe, i didn't dig the hiphop so much, so I would end up in my room playing around with cracked ACID(software) on the pc and just dicking around trying to be FSOL. Wasn't till I came to London (2000) and was earning decent money that I splashed out on ableton, bought a keyboard and started to learn about sequencing and synthesis.
Bored myself with ableton built a x0x, bought a 101 and an ER1 and had a ball.
Sold the ER1 and 101 and got and MNM.
Put myself into debt with the MDUW
I think its a latent childhood, or a mid life crisis (but a really good one)
Doing music? maybe someday I wil complete something or do something worthy, until then its more being like my dad in a shed speaking to a bloke in Belgium on his shortwave radio transciever, a lonesome hobby.
