How's the SE Reflection Filter? I've heard some say it's great (mostly magazine reviews which really can't be trusted at all) and others say it made little to no difference. Of course, the room it is in would make a big difference.

Haha, I knew that would get a chuckle...

The SE reflection filter is incoming as is the Shure SM7b and the Duet. These were all bought in hopes of getting a better vocal sound in my crap room. On Gearslutz, multiple people state that the SE in an untreated room it is a lot better than nothing...but they said it is not a substitute for a treated room. I figured it could not hurt my crap vocal sound and I have to take a chance on it. The mic needs to placed in the proper position...there is a sweet spot. I figure that with the SM7b being dynamic, the SE filter, and the duet pre's providing 70db of gain (for the SM7b)...things could get better for me in my crap room. We'll see if it actually works out.

Yeah, the SM7 is usually perfect for rap vocals. I'll be interested to hear what you think about the Reflection Filter when you get it.
