Its true. There is always more to learn with the gear that we have.

However, there is no point in which we can master the gear we have either.
I like to remind myself from time to time, that many project studios these days have fancier gear than gear used in some of the most famous albums of all time.

Its a fine line. All you need is a piano, and that is a lifetime of work.
Throw in some elektron gear and the possibilities are endless...
Limitations are sometimes a blessing.

A painter can never master one color. But adding some other colors to the pallet will only expand creative possibilites.

Hey JSR, I am not trying to convince you of anything.
I was mostly agreeing with you. I just wanted to provide an alternative point of view.

I've always been into the fairly minimalist setup (especially when it comes to electronic music gear like synths and drum machines), but you have an interesting take on it there COM. I kinda like it.

I know...I'm just messing around. I was just proving your point that I do want some things of course...I'm just fighting the urge by saying I don't.

it's funny, you guys make me really look like some kinda gear minimalist.

Less slacking and more spending please.

I'm all for exercising my rights to be a good consumer, but there just isn't anything out there that cool to buy.

You can always start down the dangerous path that is outboard processing gear:

I'm currently on the dangerous path of building up my guitar rig (I don't mean the fucking software ) ...

Actually I'm thinking a second Jazzmaster (I just bought a '59 Reissue Thin Skin two weeks ago) for alternate tunings, a Moog MF-104Z Delay, a Moog Ring Mod, a Pro Co Rat, Devi Ever Shoegazer, an Empress Tremolo, and a Swart Space Tone Reverb.

On the bright side, I'm selling a Jimmy Page Les Paul, a silver face Twin Reverb, and several other pedals.

It's still gonna cost me though. Probably $1500 or so.
