It would be interesting to hear without the noise sample on top. Sounds like raspy analogue but with something else....maybe the pulsewidth and resonance is a huge sweet spot. Sounds polyphonic. I've thinking this is a 4 voice? evolver-esque?

This will definitely be interesting. I whole heartedly love my Machinedrum. However, as much as I love that, I hated the Monomachine even more! I never liked what I got out of it, unless I stacked and processed more that one channel, effectively eating up the 6 voices. The complexity and bugs of the Octatrack have turned me off of that as well, so I'm hoping this restores my excitement with Elektron. Problem is, I have a nasty eurorack modular addiction now, so external synth boxes will have to be pretty amazing to get me to buy it. Although I do need something for chords... we'll have to see the price!

Why do people suddenly think it's 4 voices? There are still 6 tracks... I don't know.
And the "noise sample" is part of the synthesis, I'm guessing.

Anyway, my desire for a Pulse 2 just went out the window.
Now I'd better get a job before this comes out!

This. I'm sticking with what I said much earlier in the thread: 6 track ( or a polyphonic 6 voices track) analogue synth with dsp FX, octatrack style sequencer with cv outputs. Holy shit!

Guessing cos it could have a MnM-like architecture: 6 tracks, but you can use one or more as dedicated effects tracks if you so desire. That may be happening in some o' these snippets.

the original pic shows 4 CV channels (A to D), remember?
also the first sound of the demo plays a 4-notes chord and I don´t think this is coincidence

so one could think that 4 tracks are used to drive the internal analog engine plus the other 2 could be attached to CV outputs, like 2 pairs of gate/CV to control external analogue stuff or any other configuration

my guess is that you got different "machines"
maybe the analog, CV and gate...you can use up to 4 of the same in different tracks (4-notes max and 4 CV channels max)

I´d love to be wrong and this thing is really a 6-notes polysynth PLUS an MnM-style secondary layer of 6 tracks to drive the 4 CV channels and 2 analog inputs

Definitely analogue from the sound (as if we hadn't already worked that out).

My guess is that there are 6 analogue oscillators, which you can split and mix with the digital oscillators as you want across the 6 tracks. I'd be pretty surprised if they squeezed 12 analogue oscillators in there, that would be $$$.

Not really enjoying the distortion --- sounds a bit harsh to me. But the FX sound great. Looks like this is going to be a great machine.

I get what you're saying, but look at it this way: the four "cv" labels are placed like if it's something like the midi mode on the octatrack. There are three rows of text there, I'm guessing one for the internal synth tracks, one for cv outs tracks and one for midi tracks. And I hope that I'm right!

Wow

I hope they have enough of them in their first batch for us all to have one!
