anyway I´d preffer more info revealed at this point...

it seems to me even that the shown device could be a mockup.

note the big gaps concerning encoder to surface of the unit.
also take a closer look on the PSU-cable, there´s no plug-connector; seems odd to me.
aside of that, the red jack looks unfamiliar too somehow.
maybe i´m wrong though.

Could well be - the Octatrack changed a bit from the original music show demos as i remember. They did however seem to have a pretty complete looking PCB getting buried under the tree - so i guess the design layout will be the same in terms of display size and pot/button positions.

I think at worst one can blame Elektron for being probably the only synth manufacturer for advertising in contemporary style : let's face it, our TVs are bombarded with overly pretentious , style heavy - content light marketing campaigns. Whether its cars or sportswear the modern trope is often to make the actual product as opaque as possible.
Now this can be annoying or it can be cool ... And everything in between ... But it is increasingly the way things are. Personally all advertising bugs the hell out of me, but I think Elektron are possibly unique in the synth /EM instrument market for advertising like this ...guess that makes them a target. They're building hype ... But they're in the business of shifting units ultimately. If the end product turns out to be shite then all hype in the world won't help them. If it turns out ( hopefully ) to be superb then all this Hector stuff will be irrelevant.

then what we have is either a shite product or irrelevant promotion?

Either way I wanna know how many oscillators it has.
