Yeah, I don't have any need for super-quick communication between the MD and MnM.

I'm really starting to believe that the new elektron thing is the re-branded Ruin & Wesen Minicommand joystick device because it requires the Turbomidi's 10x communication speed.

You would also need it for the mini command to be able to upload samples via its internal storage... as far as Im aware they have given wesen access to parts of the code for this so maybe it is to allow this to happen.

(Im not saying MC will be rebranded or released by elektron... I do however think this feature will be supported by them as they have already began that process by helping Wesen)

As for the new OS does it mean more vlaues or just faster jumps?

Not sure if this got answered but I don't think the values of any of the params are "high resolution" - if it went from 0-127 in whole numbers it is still that way - it does NOT go from 0.0 to 127.0 in 1/10ths for example.

This talk of "higher resolution" seems to be only how encoders react - takes less turns to get from 0-127 now than it did before. I'm guessing 1/3 less turns judging that the default value of this setting is 24 (normal) and the only other option is 32 (faster).

I can only assume that the amount of turn required to move 24 values will now produce a value change of 32 instead. Make sense?

^ makes sense, though its a shame they cant move in tenths as you suggest or half steps, I get some beautiful sounds out of the MDUW but they are a pain in the arse to tune to anything else so I usually dont bother.

nope. i can debunk that one it def not an elektron r&w minicommand. also turbomidi is not yet implemented in the minicommand/monojoystick in any of the released firmwares. all current functionality uses the normal midi protocol.

also i'm pretty sure the turbomidi spec is open source. i may be wrong.

Yes, there are other MIDI "accelerators" out there so this is not a new idea. Open-source, I don't know, but this is not some Elektron-only concept. I had a post about this a while back - think the link I posted was to a Peavey site of all places.

BIG problem....
I updated yesterday evening and turned it on and off-no problem
This morning I turned it on, everything still OK. I turned it off and on and now I have BLUE SCREEN and all the lights are LIT!!!!
And I can't do anything, push function,restart, only blue screen....

Can anyone help? Anyone experience this before?

You mean you are getting a BLUE screen on the MACHINEDRUM ?!!!! It means it's a multi color screen implemented to red but you can change the color without any hardware modification? strange...
any pics?
