Hi guys! I'm trying to make my oen detroit minor chords with my Roland Mks-509 and jx-8p and I've also got some good results tuning the oscs on my evolver desktop.
But have you got some suggestions to make chords that sound raw and fat as Mike Dehnert does?

I can hear a very specific timbre, who can recognize the synth?
I don't want to know what effects he uses or to hear that I can make good chord with a prophet 5 or juno. It's a very specific questions about the timbre of those chords.

Other suggestions about the other gear he uses will be appreciated, especially for the drums

Mike's 100% Fruity loops or whatever it's called nowadays, I think the whole group is that. Has that muddy sound I guess

About the chords, swapping 3rd and 7th interval with 2nd and 5th, for exemple, Cminor would be C-Eb-G, alternate with D and F replacing Eb & G, that's all that is happaning here.

Mmm I don't think is like what you're saing
Mike in an interview said that he do the track only with analog gear. To me his tracks sounds like a live edit / cut.

listened to a few dehnert tracks i can clearly hear heavy use of FM.

FM kicking in at 0:45, also clearly audible at 1:41

the other dehnert stuff is also full of FM sounds (at least to my ears).
he seems to layer/blend analog with FM synths.

could imagine it would kinda work with the MnM as well since there is FM and the SuperWave, perhaps one of the ensemble machines too would work.

try combining subtractive + FM synthesis with whatever gear you have.

Thanks mate! I have a TX-802 I was ready to sell, maybe I have to try it more. If I could only find an editor for Mac would be more fun.
