You can use Octatrack as a wavetable synth similar to MMs DPRO.

get some single cycle waveforms.
http://www.adventurekid.se/akrt/waveforms/adventure-kid-waveforms/

1. load up a flexmachine and turn loop on.
2. load a single wave userform.
3. adjust pitch with PTCH and RATE
4. adjust the envelope with ATK, HOLD and REL

same technique can also be used on long samles, just catch a single cycle by trimming the sample ... quite cool heh

Definitely the most intriguing Octa-news until now (imho).
Anyone care to explain further, and possibly make a demo?

Are retrig speeds tuned to a standard 12-note scale? This was always a pain with the MD, but I happily accept that pain, as the results are sometimes mesmerising. If this is easier on the Octa...

Anyway; heres' a future feature request for the Octa: tuneable retrigs, notes can be entered with a MIDI keyboard...

The pitch knob has +/- 1 octave, centre being original pitch, you can hold down the encoder to skip in semitone steps, or hold down function and turn to move in octave jumps.

I have to say the filter is really ripe for making nice synth sounds.

Just tested e heck out of this. Created a scale pattern on whole number values. Right on pitch. Then it was an hour of slowly scrolling the start and loop points through samples while the magic happened.

Very nice.

Now that you mentioned that, you generated enough momentum to make me ponder for the next few hours as to whether it's Wavetable Synthesis or Granulation, and what the differences are between the two..
