Hello
i'm trying to send midi notes from the Octatrack to a Dave Smith Mopho Synth (i tried with different synths but same luck)

i have a beat going on with samples on the OT and want to program some synth lines on the OT midi tracks to be sent to the Mopho
I press MIDI on the OT and if i play the first Track Trig button it sends a note to the Mopho.
So far so good.

But then i press REC and put some notes on the OT sequencer and nothing happens.
Playback starts but it doesn't send notes to the external synth.
I have the last OS so i guess i'm missing something here.

Some help or comments would be appreciated.

make sure that you selected the correct midi channel on the playback setup page. once you select your midi channel, press the button down to store the channel. you also might want to check your note length on both the playback page and the arp page. if these are set to zero then the note won't play.

well, in the playback page it says:
Part 1
Midi Ch: -

And i cannot change the midi channel, i don't know how to access that menu.

In the Preferences (presets window) inside the Midi Option it reads like this:
auto channel: 1

trig ch
ch 1: 1
ch 2: 2
and so on...

Hit midi to get into midi mode, then hold function as you press the playback button. You'll see the midi track parameter in the top left. Yay!

So good...
Geeezzzzee the manual is not so great at mentioning this.
I did manage to figure it out score I read the precious statement.
It just does not look like a function links... It's a colour thing.

well, I still an not getting any sound from my minitaur
even tried two differing audio set ups, moog out into mixer mono, moog out into OT A in then set up an audio track with a thru machine.... still no minitaur sound.
keep checking all the midi channel set ups in OT all on 1...

ill set up the minitaur with my mpc or oberkorn just to check its audio signal.....

can anyone run through the set up just to see if ive missed something, I've been over and over it....thoughts?

Have you added a trig on the first step of the Thru track?
Is the track set to incoming A? Try changing the volume settings of the thru track as well.
Are the input LEDs lit? If not, the signal is not reaching the physical inputs.

test with MPC says minitaur is all good.
so my glitch is with my OT or OT set up...... dudes?
