Poly-Rechannelize for Octa Synthing? 11 Years, 11 Months ago
Does anyone know of software that will take a chord played on one midi channel and play the notes on different channels? Obviously there would be settings for note priority and such. If you know of hardware that can do this that is even better.
Basically I want to use my Octatrack as an 8 voice synth.

I have been thinking about the same thing, but for the Monomachine... I'm going to build a mini command firmware this weekend to do it. Basically I want to be able to have split mono/poly mode for the MNM.
As far as other hardware goes, I think the midipal from mutable instruments would do what you want... Self build only at this point though, I think

Beautiful! I knew about the midipal, but I didn't realize it did this. Now I know the proper name is "Midi Dispatcher" I am definitely buying one of these. I have been looking for an excuse to use my soldering iron.
Edit: Woah, just realized that its SMT. Guess I'll have to ask around the university.

Thanks
I don't think this is the answer you're looking for but the MIDI Mustang guitar outputs a different MIDI channel for each string (channels 1-6 I believe). It was pretty fascinating to use it with the MonoMachine set up with a different synth on each machine.
