Thank you, t1B! That explains a lot, tried some things in song mode and it seems like the MD is one of those pieces in my setup that has nothing but useful features. I need a couple of weeks of free time to dive into this, but the potential is, again, endless.

in scale setup you can choose different divisions... 2/3, 4/5 etc... chain patterns with different settings

I think there's sufficient room for out-there experiments in electronic music, which is why I'm so into this music. When you look at it, pieces by Autechre, for instance, rival the complexity of jazz or even modern classical. Some of it's for listening or "braindance", as someone so aptly named it.
But on a broad scale, you're right - most people do dance stuff on these babies.
